About View

LateBloomer consists of Harald Sandø from Oslo, Norway, and his friends. So, LateBloomer is both Haralds artist name, and the name for this project. Harald is a composer, multi instrumentalist, singer and producer. He runs his own production company and label, Glamfish, and besides LateBloomer, he sings in different settings. He started at age 4, exploring different kinds of instruments, including his mums eggslicer, that worked perfectly as a little harp. Later the furniture and different kitchen utensils was used as drums and percussion until he discovered the big black thing in the living room that really sounded nice, the piano. At age 12 he got his first drumset.....and right after he started making songs on his fathers old red acoustic guitar.

A year after his first band was formed. El Toro, which soon changed name to Emergency, and then Inner War, which was what they ended with four years later. They started out playing gigs at schools and youth clubs, and LateBloomer played drums and sang at the same time. After a whole lot of live playing, LateBloomer discovered the 4 track recorder, which made him independent of other musicians. He eventually evolved into computer recording simply following his musical heart. He started to educate himself in music, ending up with a masters degree with jazz singing as his main instrument.

Since then, LateBloomer has been doing a lot of writing, recording and performing, including producing and releasing the band Legotrips first album on his own label; Glamfish. Now it is time for the LateBloomer solo project with both new and old songs, but only brand new recordings. He has been working constantly for the last two years to finish his first releases, that will be an EP in january 2005 and a full length album later in 2005.

LateBloomers music has been called several things, but some might call it beatbased pop, popbased jazz, or maybe jazzbased beats? He mixes both styles, musicians and singers in a manner difficult to classify, but is mainly a mix of the vast categories of pop, electronica and jazz with some soul and ethinc influences here and there. Anyway. You can listen to his music on this page and decide for yourself what you want to call it. Nevertheless. His music and lyrics are inspired by the smallest things in the universe to the biggest things in life, searching to express his soul.
