“Morbid and funny, yet still makes a nice lullaby.”

“This song is really cute, catchy and funny, while at the same time, kinda morbid. I love it!”

“Such a beautiful song. Nice harmony with a sad story and the guitars really compliment the harmonies. If I only heard this I would just think she was just a wonderful folk singer> But her range of styles makes her a phenomenal artist ”

“A great simple song. And I am sure it would be a hit for the 5-9 set”

“simple beautiful folk love song. Even singing straight mountain folk songs, Kristin manages to create an emotional connection that few singers can. I recently was playing LAura Cantrell, who is almost the opposite of Kristin in tenor and timbre and content, yet they both do beautiful renditions of Poor Ellen Smith. Laura is pure and innocent and Krisitn is the same story covered with mud and a little world weary. I would love to hear them do a duet!”

“This album highlights Kristin Hersh's interesting renditions of old Appalachia. Appealing to folkies and indies alike. ”
