About VoKate
The music for the VoKate album was created by layering a series of looping vocal melodies and sound effects, all of which were created organically by Kate Westfall. Rhythms were made through body-actions of the feet, hands, arms, mouth, collarbone, etc. The exception to the organic purity is "Private Scientist" which includes Kate's keyboard and pencil scratchings among other aural teasings, with assistance from audio technician Eric Barnett.Kate Westfall's live performances include live vocal looping, digital rhythms, occasional hand drums, spoken word, and even digeridoo.

“Kate Westfall is what would happen if the acappella Camille had an accident with Ollabelle. Rootsy vocal-driven songs with that "down to the river to pray" (O Brother Where Art Thou) feel to them. Original and fantastic.”
