Jonah Rank's latest concoction, Your Favorite Album, like his debut Loud and Dumb, is not only breaking the limitations of aural perception, but also breaking people's ear drums. Comprising 18 different experimental solo-instrumental (or, as Jonah puts it, "experinstrumental") tracks with 18 different sounds. Although fans of music-in-the-traditional-sense are often inspired by Jonah's light, picturesque piano playing on the conclusive "Beyond Green Hills", listeners have found the majority of Your Favorite Album to be a challenging experience: uneasy tempos, misplaced microphones, 12+ tone atonal music, and more adding up to the complex artistic expression on Rank's newest album.
