Joey Welz is best known as one of Bill Haley's Comets(mca)he is the featured pianist with the band,and is still rockin'around the clock. as ceo of canadiann american records,he still finds time to write and record new music,and has released a new album every year since 1955.he also is known to be very generous to causes that promote healing and funds to disasters.he wrote and recorded 'the day america cried'for red cross aid for the victims of the twin tower disaster,as well as,'tsunami' for aid and relief for the flood victims of that terrible disaster.now,once again he has been moved to write and record "Katrina" ,with his award winning song writing partner,Martha Barr.Joey is donating all of his royalties from sales to the tipitinas foundation in new orleans to benifit new orleans artists and musicians and to help the homeless there.he has three great friends that live in new orleans that heve been mentors to him through the years.....Fats Domino....Clarence'Frogman'Henry and Frankie Ford.Joey will be doing radio interviews and making tv appearances in Lousiana to help this noble cause.
