“I've been listening to women singer-songwriters since Joni Mitchell's mid career stuff, and I'm kind of hard to impress as a result. This artist impressed me right away. I only had to hear one song to know I wanted this whole album.”

“The sparse arrangement demands that you listen to the lyric, which rewards with a sweet, enigmatic intensity.”

“Probably the best of these B-sides, this song could have easily fit on “Real Life”. Listening to this song you really wish you could fix her “broken eyes”.”

“This track is definitely a highlight -- not just of this collection of B-sides, but of all of Joan as Police Woman's songs. It's a Bowie cover, but she really makes the song her own, giving it an intimate whisper that's a pleasant contrast to the original. The minimalist piano echo of Bowie's guitar theme is a wonderful touch!”

“If Broadway were still the place where Tin Pan Alley songs went to be found by the public, some enterprising empresario would snap up this song and make it the showstopper for a new romantic musical.”
Mryan6692 Rec'd this on Jan 18, 2009:

“With vocals, guitar and just a little extra embellishment from other instruments, I did not recognize this as a cover of a David Bowie song from "Diamond Dog" at first. This stripped down version is a winner thanks to Joan's heart-felt vocals.”

“While not as powerful as the closing version on “Real Life”, Joan Wasser’s voice is just so beautiful she could probably sing the phone book and make you feel emotions that you did not know where inside of you.”
