About Just Me & My Guitar

With Two Independently Released Albums, Seven Grammy Nominations and a Future as Bright as the North Star, Jessi Lynn is an artist that you will soon be hearing a lot of. At the age of twenty four, she has proved to be dedicated and completely at ease with her craft as she consumes her life with the realities of the hard work that is necessary to be a success in the music industry.

Releasing her first Cd at the age of twenty one, she financed, co produced and wrote all of the twelve songs that make up this impressive release. "Remember Me" is the name of that album and that is exactly what you will do when you hear this young woman sing. Her writing seems to depict the life of an older and more experienced individual which leaves you wondering how she was able to pen songs like these at her age. She sings with such emotion that it is impossible to decide if you believe she has lived these songs or is just really good at telling a story. With a great combination of well written songs and an impressive vocal performance, Jessi Lynn began stealing the hearts of her listeners right from the start, getting rave reviews from radio personalities from Wisconsin, all the way to Holland.

Six months after releasing her debut Cd, Jessi Lynn headed for the lights of Nashville where she hoped to land a record deal. After playing many of the writer's nights for a year and a half, Jessi decided she wanted to record again. For her sophomore project, she headed home to Wisconsin, where she felt like her music would be better off being recorded by people she trusted her songs with. Jessi stands firm when asked why she didn't stay in Nashville to record, "I wanted to go where I knew my songs would be well taken care of and I'd have control over how they were recorded and produced. It wasn't about where I was recording, but about the best place that I could take my music, I felt like that place was up north."

Her sophomore Cd, "Just Me & My Guitar" is an acoustic album filled with impressive lead vocals and harmonies, guitar and percussion totaling fifteen songs that far surpass what her first Cd brought to the table. Her growth as an artist is evident in every aspect of this Cd and she even earned 7 Grammy Nominations! With Jessi being the rhythm guitar player, lead and harmony vocalist, songwriter, co producer as well as financing the entire project on her own, it is obvious this girl has what it takes to be a super star. Her songs are so well written that it's hard to imagine her next project being any better and her vocals seem to have improved, almost unbelievably, in both power and depth. This woman was born to write, whether it be a song, a book or just a letter to a friend . . . she is not just a singer nor just a songwriter. . . she is an incredible example of both . . . a star waiting for the clouds to scatter so her light can be seen from every corner of this earth. With the talents of her co producer, Jake Johnson, this team successfully managed to release an independent project that would easily compete with major label releases and even put a few of them to shame.

Jessi spends her winter months living in Nashville and the summer's in Wisconsin Dells, Wi. She performs at a friend's club as well as working as a bartender when not on stage. She has an enormous following in the north and has many radio stations, both country and rock, who play her songs and stand behind her artistry with hopeful hearts. When asked why she continues to go back and forth between states and seasons, Jessi says candidly, "By going up north every summer, I am allowing myself to live in Nashville through the winters, dedicating 100% of my time to my music and my writing. It gives me time to think and to dream again while avoiding the heartbreak that Nashville is famous for, it also inspires me to keep going back in the fall. Through the summers, I get to play full sets of originals and I actually get paid for it, something that doesn't happen in Nashville. I sell Cd's and really try to widen my fan base up there. It's a great area for my music and I'm lucky to have so many people who support me. Nashville is a great place too, so I think I get the best of both worlds by going back and forth." Jessi adds, "Ultimately, I want the whole world to hear my songs and I will keep playing until that happens, even if I have to do it one person at a time. And then, I will play on."

With her dedication, hard work, powerful dream and undeniable talent, it sounds like we'll all be pretty lucky if we catch a glimpse of the light from her star before it's too bright to see without protective eye wear. Twenty four years old, Two Incredible Independent Albums, Seven Grammy Nominations and the raw talent of which pours from every fiber of her soul, Jessi Lynn is an artist you wont ever forget.
