About EP

"A folksinger of uncommon strength and vitality,
who puts the lie to most popular notions about
women with guitars who sing of life and love's
injustices. She achieves the energy of rock
without subverting the melody and lyrics, and
the effect is electrifying."

-Wenzel Jones, Back Stage West

Jenn Grinels has the ability to turn every listener into a die hard fan. She stuns audiences with her laughter and smiles juxtaposed against the brutal poetics of her lyrics and reckless manhandling of her guitar - her music rocking the boat one minute and cradling it the next. If you are already a fan, you know what I am talking about. If not, you are missing out.

Jenn is opening new musical territories few female singer/songwriters dare to tread. For those who feel the burning desire to go farther out and experience music at a wilder level, Jenn Grinels blazes a path to a new world with a flair and individuality evidenced by all the great musicians before her.

"Her interpretation of what music should be is a
reminder to us of the importance of standing out
and succeeding at being a pioneer . . . In carving
her own style, Jenn brings us a sound that we wish
we could have had all along."
- Allison Gill, Lavender Lens Magazine

Jenn hails from NorCal, specifically Cupertino - the heart of silicon valley. She migrated south to study musical theatre @ UC Irvine. During the last few years, Jenn has divided her time between musical theatre and her own music. Most recently, Jenn portrayed Janis Joplin in the 60's musical Beehive and Yitzhak in the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. With her own music, Jenn has toured all over the country including New York, Nashville, Washington DC, and Chicago.
