“music about something - I predict these guys to get better - a lot better. This song is a promise of that.”

“A harsh parody of a marching song.
"Manifest Destiny...we can fall from a tree - sweet with indifference...pack them up and ship them out
Searing and serious indightment of the way things are - with a type of bleak humor. I know there's a name for such painful humor - too serious and sincere in intention to be called sarcasm - I can't remember it. Message me if you can help!”

“Can't you tell from the title how good this is?”

“While this might not sound EXACTLY like Uncle Tupelo, this song definitely captures their spirit. The change in pace keeps you on your toes and gets pretty rockin'. It's an interesting song from an interesting album. I look forward to more from these guys.”

“There's something really biblical about these guys' music - not in any orthodox sense but in the way they have a sort of old testament aesthetic and quite serious meaningful lyrics. Check out for instance how their album cover looks like it was etched by William Blake. ”

“Gorgeous heart warming everyday music. This stuff makes a band like REM seem totally overproduced and over-refined. Songs like this define acoustic folk for me.”

“recollection without explicit nostalgia - somewhat a relief after the blast of the Oregon song
beautiful use of xylophone or glockenspiel or something... (overlaid onto a nice steel string acoustic guitar) - really delicate textured chorus with the vocals. lush”
