About Thunder Heart

About Jay Nash

I was first introduced to the Native American Flute in the fall of 2001 by John Dumas during a visit to Sedona, Arizona. My heart and soul were captivated by the free sounding and soothing melodies that flowed from this ancient instrument. Within a year, I returned to Sedona with the desire to share the love of this instrument with others. Shortly after my return from Sedona I underwent neck surgery to repair a work related injury.

During my recovery I discovered that I had sustained a trauma to my spinal cord that resulted in the loss of feeling and movement from my chest down. Within 6 months I had regained the ability to walk. Since that life changing operation in November of 2002, I have worked diligently to retrain my hands so that I could return to my hearts desire of sharing the beautiful sound and healing power of the Native American Flute. I have still not regained the sensory perception in my hands but I have returned to my love of making and playing the Native American Flute. This experience has taught me the importance of living life one day at a time.

Please note: This album is not associated with the other Jay Nash of Kufala Records.
