About Jam Camp Live!

Recorded "live" during the spring and summer of 2006, JAM CAMP LIVE! is an killer snapshot of the band at work today. The new CD contains energized reinventions of songs from the band's earlier releases, as well as several new themes being "road-tested" for their next studio release. This disc will satisfy fans of psychedelic rock and fusion alike.

70 minutes of outrageous solos and big jam-fusion fun!

Produced by Joel Veatch & Mark Simmons

REVIEWS:

"Tossing together elements of jazz, jam and progressive/psychedelic rock, Jam Camp has released a CD packed with seventy minutes of way cool improvisations ... this band transports you to front row center as you enjoy their many flights of fancy... Jam Camp Live! will give your judgmental, pigeonholing, been-there-done-that, deja vu psyche a good kick in the rear, as you come to the realization that there are still players out there doing what comes best - ignoring trends and having fun making music." -- Guitar Nine

"Jam Camp Live! is an eleven song live set recorded on the band's tour in mid-2006... Hints of Passport, The Allman Brothers Band, Spyro Gyra, Dixie Dregs, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra can be heard throughout these tracks, but only as a fleeting inspiration, as these guys have a pretty unique sound... [they're] a well oiled fusion machine, pumping out plenty of tight grooves. Overall there's not a weak tune in the bunch here, so depending on your fancy, whether it be bouncy funk rockers like "Westside Highway", soaring fusion burners like "Thrush", or more progressive pieces such as "Trees", there's something for everyone. Instrumental rock doesn't get much better than this folks. Awesome stuff!" --Pete Pardo, Sea of Traquility

"Get thrilled with a bright shiny piece of jazz-rock music that rocks. Rich in virtuosic guitar solos interplayed with bold saxophone grooves... effective arrangements... crystal clear sound (no rough surfaces here!) ...a seamless fusion between all these brilliant musicians."
--Jazz World Quest

"The Pacific Northwest band Jam Camp has the beat on jazz, jam-grooves and progressive rock within its singularly identifiable sound... With the dual e-guitar attack of David Broyles and Michael “Smitty” Smith providing most of the fireworks, the ensemble engages a vibrant, sonic platform counterbalanced with punchy rhythmic foundations. Saxophonist Steven Munger generates soul-stirring contrasts while often accentuating the jubilantly performed melodies... the group’s compositions are constructed with cheery choruses and memorable hooks [proving] it’s not all about wanton jamming. The quintet’s program is supplanted by climactic unison runs and intermittent injections of hard-rock and blues style psychedelics as the guitarists often glide through these works with fiery aplomb. In sum, this unit seems headed for far-reaching notoriety. Killer riffing and sustainable compositions generate the knock-out blow here!"
-–Glenn Astarita, eJazzNews

“If you have not had the pleasure of an introduction to this fine band yet, they are a jazz-rock-fusion machine that you must hear… [Jam Camp Live!] is a great live album... something new for fusion fans to discover… beautiful!” -- MuzikMan Reviews
