"Everything to me is about the song...the hit chorus, the Hook line, that certain something that is gonna make everybody hum it from the get go!!

I`m lucky enough to be able to spend all day writing...so...that's just what I do.
I write a song a day, 7 a week...28 a month, 336 a year!!

It sounds extreme but it's not because I don't put pressure on myself to have to make them all huge hit material songs, that impossible...but out of a month's material I do get some crackers and those are the ones that get recorded.

It's just my opinion if I think they are great songs...it's your opinion that really counts!!

My loyalty is toward my band, those guys make me sound good...so if I can keep churning out the songs, maybe we can all have an easy life at some point, and make no mistake..I`m out to get signed but I`m out to work 24 hrs a day 7 days a week to make sure I have longevity in this industry now..and when and if I get signed, the competition is too good and it's too tough out there to get complacent!

After 15 years...learning all I can about songwriting, producing and performing...all I know is I still know nothing...because the industry changes too quick to think you know it well...I just try to be true to myself and my music...3 chords and the truth...and wait till the market may get round to what I'm doing..and take it on."

Guy Barnes comes across as a very private guy, a singer/songwriter musician/producer/biker,cigar connoisseur!!

Carrying in his throat a huge vocal range, his Coverdalian/Bon Jovi timber raw in its power makes the hairs on your neck stand on end, he can rip into a song with unbridled charisma like a man possessed or caress a ballad with the tenderness of a father holding a baby for the very 1st time.

Guy is also a multi instrumentalist with the ability to play anything he picks up or indeed picks him up.
He cut his teeth at a very early age playing the local bars and taverns in a succession of bands when legendary audio designer and engineer John Oram discovered him.
John recognising Guys ability to write and perform set him up with his own studio, and crafted the young artist slowly teaching him about production and arrangement, and letting Guy write and write.

Guys brightest moment was writing and developing girl band Beau-t, who he helped, get signed to Mercury records under Fame Academies Richard Park. Guy wrote and co-wrote 35 songs, 2 albums and produced the vocals for the 1st single.
Unfortunately due to politics inside the band, the deal didn't work out and Guy went back to the drawing board, moving back to West Sussex.

He is currently recording a brand new album called SUICIDE IN FRACTIONS and rehearsing when he is looking forward to getting back out playing live again with his band, as well as going out with guitarist Steve Underhill as a duo in Pubs and clubs around Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
