About The Many Struggles

Gibson has been writing lyrics for well over a decade. During his early high school years, Gibson (also known as Gib), was approached by his longtime friend Fade about forming a Hip-Hop group. The two hooked up and formed Smoov Productions. Over the years, the two have created a local buzz with their demos and worked with a variety of artists in the Oklahoma-Texas area. Even though Gib joined the Army in 1995, Smoov Productions always found a way to get in quality recording time and perfect their craft. Instead of visiting with family, most of Gib's vacation was spent recording new songs.

"The Many Struggles..." is the first full-length project from the Smoov Productions label. It is an album packed with smooth, mid-tempo beats that contain jazz and funk laced melodies. The CD showcases Gibson's laidback yet aggressive flow, filled with battle rhymes and witty metaphors. You will also be impressed by the versatility and cutting edge production of Fade. Live instruments played a key role in production; all 16 tracks were original and no samples were used on the album. With the help of classical guitarist PTO, "The Many Struggles..." sets off an acoustic vibe with an old school twist. Lyrically, vocally and musically, this project has been compared to the likes of Jurassic 5 and The Roots. This is definitely an album for listeners who want to see a change for the better in Hip-Hop.

The title of the album symbolizes Gib and Fade's personal highs and lows in life, along with the struggle to launch the CD and record label. "The Many Struggles..." also deals with the movement to bring Hip-Hop back to what it use to be; an art form.

Gibson is currently out in Southern California promoting the new release off the Smoov Productions label.
