About A Whale, A Fish
Finn Riggins was formed in Moscow, Idaho, the result of a longtime collaboration between Cameron Bouiss, Eric Gilbert and Lisa Simpson. Having met while completing their higher education, the gang immersed themselves in a creatively thriving community found in the heart of the Palouse Region of the Inland Northwest. The product of this endeavor would ultimately culminate in what is now Finn Riggins. In August of 2006, with Finn Riggins still a concept in their minds, they
quit their jobs and moved to Sun Valley, Idaho to start writing, rehearsing
and touring behind their new found freedom. Playing various gigs across the country, they honed their skills to a formidable degree, reveling in the multifaceted nature of their sound. These amorphous qualities presented a band educated in a classical sense and familiar with various musical traditions, yet fused with an innate rock and roll vitality.
Their new album, “A Soldier, A Saint, An Ocean Explorer,” available November 6th on Tender Loving Empire, is the embodiment of their creative journey. Produced by Portland-based singer/songwriter, Jared Mees, during the summer of 2007 it is a testament to their versatility. From the epic sonic landscape of “Black Rock” to the giddy pop-infused strains of “Haraka,” “A Soldier, A Saint…” is a document of a band at the height of their abilities. Join the voyage, take part in the Finn Riggins experience.
