Latest RECs

Street Cred: 0 Rec's: 3
“Figli di Madre Ignota are a blast of spicy Italian sausage, with plenty of Balkan and Gypsy flavor. Their songs are full of layered instrumentation, brass flourishes, and traditional anthemic vocals. The name means “sons of an unknown mother”, but the music is laced with joyful exuberance and variety. Listening to this album is like wandering into a traveling troupe of troubadours and feasting, drinking wine, and merrymaking with them all night long. They are that rare band with eclectic influences that still manages to make themselves distinctive and that simultaneously combines centuries old music styles with the latest in today’s trends, which is particularly noticeable in their percussive arrangements. This album is a great introduction to their music, released in 2004, I look forward to more music from them. Great band!”
