Feb 2008-CD receiving extensive airplay on interior BC radio!

Many of the Earthbound members have been writing and performing/recording together for close to seven years, and with a few lineup changes, a perfect combination was struck for their debut CD. Nothing less than incredible vocal expression delivered by singer/songwriter Kira Haug and supported by multi instrumentalist Evan Wilds, who in addition to guitar, keys & sitar, delivers harmony vocals. Taking you to the world of soul, beats, jazzed horns & funk are horn duo Graham & Kevin How, ace of bass Peter Mehrfert and Kelowna session drummers Scot Grant and Mark Greenhalgh.

Born and raised in Kamloops B.C, Kira has studied Music and Theatre since the age of 12 where her enormous energy and dynamic stage presence compliments the positive message of her songs! Kira says”I’ve always known that my most basic and inate purpose is to sing in a way that empowers and encourages. …Whenever I have lost my way I have reminded myself of one thing, I am voice.”

Taste the funky, soulful sound & celebrate the brilliant collection of dance inducing tracks, with the release of the much anticipated debut Earthbound CD, almost 2 years in the making. It's a clever blend of organic tracks from acoustic guitars, horns and fender rhodes to elements of electronica.

Kira is pleased with the nominations to the 2007 Okanagan Music Awards as well as the radio support with the CBC airplay of first single “Maggie Knows”

Recorded, produced and mixed by Mark Greenhalgh in both Kelowna BC and Kamloops BC, Canada, this record features an uplifting, soulful vibe from dance/funk tracks like Open Up Your Arms to the haunting Silent Chaos, and mood setting of Letting Go, this record flows beautifully.

The CD was mastered at Precision Mastering in Hollywood California.

“Very smooth bluesy female vocals. The entire album is quality, but this song stands out to me.”
