PalmsOutSounds.com calls DLake, “The sickest stuff we've ever heard”. He hails from the streets of Baltimore, MD & Queens, NY (2 Jobs in 2 Different Cities makes the china town bus a necessity) with a strong foundation of Hip Hop, Electro, and Club. But like any great artist he lets everything influence him.

DLake has already received critical acclaim for his latest DJ Mix “Bmore of a Hipster v1.0 the Mixtape”. It won the Village Voice’s “DJ Spin-Off, Best DJ of NYC” Contest and landed him a DJ Set at Ultra Festival in Miami for WMC 2008. The single “Dance All Night” has been regarded as “the future sound of Baltimore Club” by Curtis Vodka and his amazing remix of the Australian Singer Gotye’s “Heart’s a Mess” has already won him an Australian Grammy Award (Aria).

His musical maturity stems from piano lessons and attempts to beat match songs [on 2 cassette players] at the age of. 10. But his musical path is what has led him to where he is today. From burning mix cd’s in High school, to learning how to mix on a studio board in college, to finally mixing and mastering 2 self released albums in the past 3 years, he always finds a way to further develop his musical foundation.

DLake quickly became one of the go to “pinch hitter” DJs for Taxlo (The East Coast’s largest dance party) which then led to opportunities to work/perform alongside artists such as; Diplo, DJ A-Trak, Spank Rock, Bonde Do Role, Tittsworth, Cosmo Baker [The Rub NYC], Yo Majesty, Plastic Little, Thunderheist, Curtis Vodka, & Bird Peterson to name a few. The world of music was no longer a single path but instead became a cornucopia of people, sounds and genres.

2008 is looking like a great year for DLake.
