“Slightly twisted lyrics, and a groove that just won't let go.”

“Killer song from a killer musician. Silly and fun, light, but oddly rhythmic.”

“This song has a lot of soul-- his vibrato vocals are really distinctive. The Asian melody is charming. There's some "wind cried mary" in the background guitar towards the end, and the thing the tomtoms are doing is cool. Good song for sitting in the dark with a tumbler of scotch.”

“To say the least, there's a reason it's called 'freak folk' ... but this album is good.”

“This song is great. I love listening to this song when I'm driving down some idyllic road and I need some music to go along with the scenery. ”

“I feel like I should be laying in a field somewhere with some contemplative hippies. This is happy music. I want to be a little sea horse, too.”
mseifullah Rec'd this on Mar 21, 2008:
Street Cred: 434 Rec's: 28
“Wow, this one is just packed full of feeling. From the lyrics to the instrumental composition, it offers a strong tug at the emotional chords. There's a strong piano melody with some subtle string support, all layered beneath a soft and almost whisper-like voice. Here's a track that's beautifully performed with compelling cross-section of 'memories.' Highly Recommended.”

“always great stuff from devendra. Samba Vexillographica has Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) playing some kind of crazy instrument from South Africa made from an armadillo shell.”
