strawberries Rec'd this on Sep 26, 2009:
Street Cred: 38 Rec's: 7
“A deliciously depressing garage pop song! Denise James' music sounds classic but fresh. It's folkish pop with a 60s garage feel. Unlike so much music today, the sound is robust and textured. I'd put her in a genre with Holly Golightly and April March, though she is more upbeat than the former, and deeper than the latter. On this album, she sounds like a cross between Holly Golightly and Kirsty MacColl.”
