“Sly blues inflected apocalypse now type tune. Think lyrics like Zep's 'When the Levee Breaks'. Pumping upbeat rhythm sends this ditty flying down the highway to hell. Slick effective breaks keeps the thing on the rails. Great tune.”

“Sad little downbeat tune. Apparently about Karen Carpenter filled with references to So Cal of the 70's and 80's. Builds in intensity over repeat listens.”

“Unusual take on this song. It ain't Doris Day's version. Barrelhouse boogie piano. A slightly leering vocal by Dave twists this in a sly way. I neever thought I'd find this song in anyway cool but here it is.”

“This song sums up this album. All the musical attributes are on display here and they are formidable. lyrically it is about being cautious in the face of the future. Get this one if no other.”

“Just saw Dave and the GW live - great show - and this is an excellent cover of the Kate Wolf classic”

“Jumping R&B tune harks back like most tunes on this album. Slapback echo and driving rhythms. Cool and quite good.”
