About Conversations Vol. 1
Originally a native of Cleveland, Ohio, This Austin Texas based producer/composer/songwriter is no stranger to the business. Darn-L has been involved with recording since the early 90's when he released his first produced recording with his former Pop/Dance group T.O.U. under Oaklawn Records (OLR141). He has since been involved with many projects from various developing artist ranging from Hip Hop, R&B, and dance. He has done been involved with various artist development projects, and remix, and mixing projects, as has honed his skills as a producer / arranger in the process. His influences range from Jazz greats like Bob James and Herbie Hancock, to R&B notables such as Barry White, James brown, the Isley's and more. He credits his production influences to greats like Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Babyface, Teddy Riley and moreWith this CD release, Darn-L compiles a nice mixture of R&B, Soft soul and Jazz , with a little Hip-hop and House flavor. He produced, arranged, recorded and mixed this entire project from his Studio located in Austin Texas. Darn-L believes in versatility which certainly shines on this album. His wide range of influences come together to create a very unique style of composition and performance that will become his signature sound.
