“There are lots of great voices in country music today, but they all suffer from a major problem: They don't sound country! They're too polished, too slick. Dale Watson, on the other hand, is fighting to keep the real country sound alive. His deep baritone is perfect for these ought-to-be country classics. On these trucking songs Dale sounds like a real man singing about manly things. I can't stop humming "Draggin' Fly" and "Me and Freddie and Jake." If you like Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, or even C.W. McCall, you're going to love this album.”
