About Remnant People

Delivered from drug addiction, this young man knows what it is like to be bound by the chains of sin and self-gratification. Brought up in the church, Curvine gave his life to the Lord at a young age, but upon entering his teenage years, his desire for social acceptance began to override his desire to please God. This love for the world led him down a path of pain and turmoil that would steal the next 7 years of his life. Alternative schools, probation, jails, house arrest, and lawyer fees consumed his life; and as the grip of legal obligation tightened around his neck, so did the bondage of his drug addiction. From marijuana to alcohol; and alcohol to ecstasy, Curvine began to engage in hostile and violent behavior in order to support his habit. In 2001, Curvine, only 17 years of age, was charged with 3 class-D felonies totaling a projected prison sentence of 10 years. It was then that Curvine fell into a state of depression and was introduced to cocaine.

It wasn't until January of 2004, when he entered the Christ-centered drug and alcohol rehabilitation program known as Sandhills Teen Challenge, that Curvine had a divine encounter with the God of his youth. Upon witnessing just a glimpse of God's power, Curvine recognized, for the first time, that apart from Christ he was hopeless and at war with his Creator. At this discovery, this young man found himself weeping, prostrate before the mercy of a holy God. It was on this day that his life became hidden in Christ, and everything he once stood for vanished.

Considered to be a frontline pioneer in the Gospel Hip Hop Movement, Curvine is sincerely passionate about the souls of young people lost in sin. His ventures as an artist has led him to outreaches, block parties, and youth events in throughout the U.S. Through song and testimony he is privileged to be a tool of God's grace to a people often neglected and overlooked. As a multi-talented young man, Curvine arranges, and writes all of his own music. His influences range from the arising Underground Hip Hop feel mixed with an Alternative sound which is fueled by a Progressive delivery different from most Hip Hop that you 've heard. Edgy, controversial, and challenging, Remnant People is a record that you cannot pass up!

“This song just got me really deep! I seriously am just ready to pick up my sign. You gotta listen to this guys lyrics. He needs to write books, short stories, or movies or something. The music is awesome, but it becomes secondary to the message. ”
