About Sweet Separation

Cosmic Voices from Bulgaria are a world wide famous and appreciated acapella choir with a classical eastern singing tradition extending back thousands of years and voices recalling the eastern charm of the orient. The Choir has toured successfully throughout Europe – Austria, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, etc. Great achievements of this unique choir are the recordings with the Bulgarian Mezzo soprano Vesselina Kasarova on her recent album “Bulgarian Soul” (BMG Classic). Samples of Cosmic Voices or full recording have already been used for Film productions such as “Nomad”. The choir has successfully collaborated with lot of internationally established artists and conductors such as Yoko Kano and Christian Kolonovitz. The composition Sweet Separation is an eight-part suite, inspired by an old Sanskrit text by the Bengali philosopher and mystic, Caitanya Mahaprabhu. In this work, the rhythms (“talas”) and melodies (“ragas”) of India are blended with jazz elements and classical harmonies in an artistic performance of the highest quality.
