About Colby Miller
Colby Miller's self titled debut was recorded over the course of four months in his garage using two mics, two guitars, a piano, a drum set, and a computer. Miller describes the process as "fun and challenging, but mostly challenging. I spent four months in a room that smelt like old decorations and gasoline."The album is unique, ranging from loud to quiet, but all filled with passion and honesty. The track "Love" slowly charges and explodes at the chorus, while "Thunder and Lightning" stays simple and haunting. Other tracks like "What No One Else Wanted To Be" and "Why Won't You Ever Get Mad?" utilize double tracked vocals, harmonies and acoustic guitar. The album is dark, but sweet with "You and Me" and "Untitled Song" the album's two love songs.
The album closes with "I Can't Help You More", a perfect ending to an album about falling down and wanting to stand. In the end it's up to you whether you heal or stay sick, as hard as that may be.

“Like a cross between early Elliott Smith and early Bright Eyes. Not quite as musically or textually complex as the former, but more understated than the latter. Nice songs.”
