Cocktail Vomit

Cocktail Vomit started out as "Dr. Disco Shrimp" and was born in New York 2003 on the sweaty autumn of 2004. The initial members were Thor, Holmar Filipson and the singer Unnur Andrea. With the band being split accross countries, Holmar living in New York, and Unnur and Thor in Reykjavik, it became difficult for the band to cooperate properly. Unnur and Thor then decided to form a new band based on it´s old roots and replaced Hólmar with two new members, the singer Agnes and guitar player Örn. The eccentric nature of the new members made the current name of the band "Cocktail Vomit" seem more appropriate.



The band´s music has been described as a fusion of 80´s pop, Italo Disco, Electro and House Music. Apart from having performed several times in Iceland, the band has played gigs in Russia, U.S.A, Denmark, Latvia, Norway, Belgium, Germany and France.



Besides putting his energy into musical vomit, the bands main producer Thor has worked with several famous musicians such as Björk and Sigurrós and has realeased a number of solo records. He ran the Icelandic music label Thule Musik for many years, the home of such bands as múm, Exos, Apparat Organ Quartet and Trabant. Thor has been a Dj since 1984 and has played records all over the globe.

Unnur Andrea is a visual artist who works at twilight, doing works that have been shown in over 17 countries around the world. Her work consist mainly of video works and performances where she frequently mixes music, acting, short stories and abnormal characters.

Agnes is an extraordinary business entrepreneur who had been spending most of her vocal talent on her own music project "Beautiful chaos" before she joined Cocktail Vomit. Agnes is a creature without limits.

Örn is a freelancer by nature and has been a member in several bands as well as he frequently works as a session guitarist in various projects. Like Unnur, Örn is hyperactive with ADD but has been granted the bonus of great wits.
