About Perfekt World
In the turbulent times of today’s music industry, Clara Lofaro breaks through musical barriers to deliver an indefinable urgency and excitement. Perfekt World, released on March 26th in North America, is her crowning achievement to date. Clara’s passion is fueled by the gift to create music that makes us FEEL something, what she believes is the reason people listen to music in the first place. The album, produced by Mark Turrigiano (Ingrid Michaelson’s, Boys and Girls) continues the tradition of the new-age female singer/songwriter genre, carved out by such mainstream mainstays as Feist and Amy Winehouse. Her ballads deliver the sincerity of Regina Spektor or Patty Griffin while the single, "Waterfall" is scheduled to reach mainstream rock/pop radio formats in the Northeast and Canada. It all comes together to create an album so complete it will stand up to any major label release from start to finish.
Lofaro hails from Toronto and went to Berklee College of Music in Boston before settling in the Brooklyn artist community. Clara’s innovative yet consistent live performances have helped her earn loyal fan bases in both New York City and Toronto.
In October of 2006, Clara beat over 450 entrants in the annual, Toronto Indie Week Competition, and subsequently saw her career take a swift upward turn with accomplishments in the past year including but not limited to this impressive list:
* Featured performer at Fresh 102.7 – Summer Concert Fresh in the Park performing with Edwin McCain, Constantine Maroulis and Kimberly Locke
* Sold out show with Emerson Hart at Blender Theater in NYC.
* The voice of Disney’s famous "What’s Next Commercial," airing every year after the SuperBowl
* Performed at sold out Bamboozle festival at Giants Stadium
* Performed on acoustic side stage at Jones Beach theater at both Stevie Nicks and OAR concerts
* Sold out show at Mercury Lounge in NYC with Alexa Ray Joel
* Airplay on over 50 college stations throughout the northeast
* Airplay on Long Islands heritage new music station WLIR-FM
* Song of the year on Ithaca radio for “One True Thing”
* Featured artist in Aquarian Weekly, Toronto Sun, Toronto Metro and Village Voice
Behind her superstar talent and songwriting is a woman who runs her own independent label, ComeTrue Records Inc, under which she released her debut album Night Light, primarily a jazz influenced recording. Her self-produced sophomore effort, Black & Blue Pearl is currently a top-seller on CD Baby. Look for the new album, Perfekt World, on all online outlets by April 2008.
It’s a small life in a small world. So, what makes you FEEL something?
