About A Long Way Off

As a native New Yorker and self taught musician, Chris Davis has played the New York/ Long Island club circuit throughout the 1980’s. After relocating in Northeast Pennsylvania in 1989, he continued playing in bands playing classic rock covers and opening for some national’s acts such as Molly Hatchett and The Marshall Tucker Band. Chris has always been developing his original material while playing with different bands. Chris’s music is a blend of light rock ballads, rock and blues, always with an emphasis on meaningful lyrics as well as a good melody. Chris’s songs have a warmth and feel that he attributes to his influences, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton. In February 1998 Chris was invited to play the NAMM convention in LA where he played along side some music veterans as well as some up and coming musicians. In 1997 Chris released his first cd called “No Good Deed (goes unpunished)” which he recorded in his studio and were given away at gigs, always getting a great response. Chris’s next release in 2000 was a double cd titled “A Long Way Off” of very strong songs including “Someday” and “Turned And Walk Away” which got some airplay at college stations through his association with Shad O’Shea and Fraternity Records out of Cincinnati Ohio. In the summer of 2003 Chris released his 3rd solo project called “Subliminal Lure” which is some of his finest work including the rockers “Damaged” and “Learn Not To Feel” and the softer “For The first Time” and the catchy “Treat you Right”. Chris dedicated Subliminal Lure to the life of George Harrison, whose influence is felt throughout the cd.
