“I always thought she had the potential to do better than Ash axegirl, and that's it. I liked her previous solo album, and I like this song a lot, with its sort of new wave feel (but the verse sounds to me like an old guitar-pumped Cardigans' tune). Moreover, she did her first solo album here in Italy at beautiful friends of mine's recording facility. Beautiful.”

“Straight Lines has a flavor of mid 80s Bowie, a la Low and Scary Monsters. The slightly skewed guitars give it a eerie quality. I love this song. The chorus has a great hook. I think this is going to be an underground fave. Hatherley's voice has an honest quality, straight and strong; similar to Poe.

“I love songs like this--smooth and mellow, like a cool drink whose ice cubes have long-melted and left it perfectly balanced for flowing down the throat--but it's a drink for the ears instead of the mouth and throat. The lyrics have actual effort put into them--this is a song to listen to and appreciate, not to just play in the background when you want something going while you focus on something else.”
