Our take

"Maryland's Celebration combine throaty, wispy vocals and a trippy, psychedelic background sound, ranging from dream pop to punk rock."

“Starting out mellowly with a droning organ, light drumstick taps and a piano line, it slowly builds adding more pieces, all the while showcasing the singer's gorgeous vocals. When the song reaches the heartbreak climax of the title, a sax joins the mix and makes me shiver it's so perfect.”

“This song kicks ass! Dance your pants off!”

“Celebration boasts one of my favorite new female vocalists. She has a deep and full sound and a great snarl. This track also shows off the great guitar and drum work showcased by the band. It all goes up a couple of more notches when the organ comes in during the last third of the song.”

“warm blankets of gorgeous organ and one of the most powerful female voices today. And then the horns kick in! great!”
keasbeynights Rec'd this on Mar 6, 2008:

“This song shows why they are signed to the 4AD label. "Lush"-ful shoegaze dream pop.”
