“Best track on the album, IMHO. Dark and brooding, great jazzy vocals that remind me of Ani Difranco a little.”

“Dark and soothing. Reminds me of early lesser-known Radiohead tracks but with chilling female vocals. Voice has Duffy's tones but with more attitude.”

“My favorite song on this album”

“Whoa. Lead vocals sound like a cross between the female lead vocals of De-Phazz and Kelli Dayton of The Sneaker Pimps -- smooth and precise at times, but well-edged and engaging. The melodies are clearly heavily-influenced by jazz -- brushed percussion and and pure bass keep the track moving, and crisp licks move the power up a notch. The last two minutes of the track see a rise in intensity and emotion, the soft and subdued vocals that start at 2'51" are quickly joined by determined, building riffs and solid backing for the lead's unique vocal style.”

“This is a fantastic song -- it's a meandering journey through a pretty fantastic set of lyrics, rising and falling in intensity.”

“What an awesome song. The vocalist's voice reminds me of ... someone really famous who I can't recall right now. She's of course the real highlight here, doing post punk, soul and jazz in one breath, but the other instruments complement her perfectly, reminding me of Birthday Party meets Carmel and sounding way beyond the tender age of the group. These guys must have come together as a unit real quick.”

“There is a lot of effort made here to create an earnest, bluesy sound. Unfortunately the vocals are overcooked and seem gimicky to me. Musically not much going either. ”

“These vocals absolutely steal the show. Most of the obvious adjectives have been used but they are spot-on. Cavalier Rose sounds like the soundtrack to a sultry movie filmed in red. ”
