About Arm Yourself

BulletProof Messenger is a young rock band from New York who perform well crafted songs with uncompromising power and virtuosity in a totally contemporary style. Long established as an exciting live act ever since winning a Clear Channel radio sponsored battle of the bands in 2005, BulletProof has toured with headline bands including Incubus, Collective Soul and Trapt. The self-financed debut A Crucial Line was released in 2006, and a proactive online strategy enabled the band to start building a formidable fanbase.
With the lineup now stabilized to a six piece, BulletProof Messenger joined the SellaBand platform and began writing and preparing new material while crowdsourcing the album recording budget from its fans.

The resulting self-produced album is Arm Yourself - eleven original compositions. This is a rock tour-de-force from the opening track This Fantasy to closer Step Out, with highlights including the title track Arm Yourself, Move On, the dynamic No Way Out and Grand Disaster. Featuring exceptional vocalist Marcus Klavan to the fore, guitarists Voley and Scott Martin are fierce yet melodic. The rhythm section of Jesse Downing and Alex Straiter are rock solid while Matt Litwin’s electronics add atmosphere, spice and groove throughout.

Arm Yourself was recorded at The Cutting Room in New York City where it was also mixed by Anthony ‘Rocky’ Gallo. The final results were mastered by Howie Weinberg at Masterdisk.

“With this song BulletProof Messenger show their true capabilities. Not only do they write awesome rock songs but they are also not afraid to explore with different styles. This song stands out beautifully from the rest of the album and shows that the band has the ability to keep growing as a band in the years to come. This is a very easy going song with a very mellow feel that hits you right in the stomach. A very beautiful way to end their fantastic album Arm Yourself.”

“A deceptively beautiful intro that turns into one cracker of a rock song and makes it stand out from the rest of the album as a result”
