About Transition

Every time singer/songwriter JOSH SCHICKER sits down to write a song there are stories and images floating around in the same space as melodies and lyrics. A published photographer and a performing artist for more than a decade, Schicker has now found a new artistic outlet in ambient and instrumental music under the name “braeburn”.

The music speaks for itself. Ranging from intimate acoustic guitar to sweeping synth pads laced with ambient noise and textures, braeburn is not background music. It is a soundtrack for any moment experienced with eyes wide open and mouths closed.

Sometimes the most compelling images are out of focus.

Sometimes the most lyrical songs have no words.
