About Out of It

OUT OF IT

Canadian self-deprecating alterna-rock Internet phenom Brad Sucks has released Out of It, his long-awaited second full-length release. Out of It is the 10-song follow-up to Brad’s successful and influential fan-funded 2003 album I Don’t Know What I’m Doing.

Out of It displays Brad's growth as a catchy songwriter and producer with listeners finding themselves humming at odd moments of the day to the album's vocals, hard-hitting drums and heavy guitars. His inimical wit and darkly sly attitude in songs like Dropping Out of School (track 1) and Certain Death (track 2) support melodic hooks with lyrical inventiveness.

Brad's open approach to music is at the album's very foundation. The title track Out of It (track 9) features
an Internet-orchestrated sing-a-long with recordings submitted by fans, followers and musicians.

PAY WHAT YOU WANT PIONEER

Out of It continues Brad Sucks’ commitment to offering music on a pay-what-you-want basis.

Payment is optional and file-sharing is heavily encouraged. The entire audio source will be released free of charge for those that desire it for remixing or use in their own work.

Brad's first album I Don’t Know What I’m Doing has received several hundred remixes and spawned two remix albums.

PREVIOUS PRESS AND MEDIA ATTENTION

As one of the first independent artists to find success on the Internet, Brad has performed and spoken at Harvard University, the University of Waterloo, the Microsoft campus (Redmond, WA), Canadian Music Week and more as an authority on how to gain a sustainable fan-base via the Internet.

Brad Sucks has been featured in The Economist, The Seattle Times, Maxim, The Toronto Star, Flak Magazine, La Presse, featured on NPR, BBC, CBC radio, Triple J and countless blogs, podcasts and college radio shows. His songs have also been licensed many times, such as by MTV and included in the stock MP3 player of the 2006 Renault Mégane car.

“Brad Sucks rules! First heard about him on Penny Arcade, and I've never looked back. I like the fact that he's completely willing to get his music out there, free or not. Because of his attitude toward fans and music, I've paid full price for his albums and I've told plenty of people about his music. Check it out!”
