Our take

"Blue Scholars redraw their sonic map with an EP inspired by the Aloha State and its proletarian artists and laborers. "

“So soulful. Geo reprises his smooth talking role seen in "Southbound". Sabzi shows he hasn't forgotten how to rock a sweet-sounding melody. An escapsim track great for just the vibe. "I wanna take you to a place I know, get there fast and take things slow"”

“The Blue Scholars take on the "chillin with the homies track" Feel good "Jawaiian" instrumental adds to the mood and lifts the spirit. ”

“Simple yet deep instrumental track by Sabzi. Geo does his thing on the rapping. "take a picture, it lasts longer, but they forgot a song lasts forever" ”

Street Cred: 70 Rec's: 11
“More synth-based (whole album) than their previous stuff, but that's not such a bad thing in this case. This song has a late 80s feel which could be considered a negative, but these guys pull it off. With Common Market and these guys, Pacific NW hip hop is alive and well.”
