About Something to Fall Back On

Hailed as "two songwriting gurus with a harmony more powerful than moonshine," the powerhouse award-winning duo of Berkley Hart blend their distinctive voices and solid musicianship to create sounds founded in American roots rock with folk longevity.

Berkley Hart have established themselves as one of the premier acoustic duos in the country. Widely known for their intricate songwriting, world-class playing and memorable live performances, these two are the guys you've always wanted to know, to tell your own stories to, and share the ups and downs of life with. It's easy to lose yourself in the smooth melodies and poignant words in one instance, and then just as easily chuckle along as they tell an amusing story. The musical chemistry between Jeff Berkley and Calman Hart has been cultivated over their individual and shared histories. Berkley is a Kerrville New Folk Songwriter award winner and founding member of the Joel Rafael Band, while Hart released several records as a solo artist. They met on the coffeehouse circuit in San Diego and soon found themselves collaborating and performing together.

In 2002, the duo released their second album, Something To Fall Back On, and made a return trip to the San Diego Music Awards, taking home the title Best Adult Alternative album. Berkley Hart kicked it up a notch for this effort and brought together a full band for a complete rock 'n' roll experience without losing their folk roots. Relix Magazine proclaimed, "The band infuses its rich, harmony-laden songs with strains of bluegrass, folk, country and rock...while...their solid and finely-crafted songs are a good melding of yesterday and today." And the German-based Home-of-Rock.com touted, "'Something To Fall Back On' is a masterpiece in today's roots and Americana rock music. Excellent musicians play...outstanding songs with wonderful harmonies and great instrumental arrangements."
