“If your a fan of fun loving storytelling lyrics where every twist and phrase is as good as the next and as good as it gets, then this is a gem for you. similiar style examples could be Mary Chapin Carpenter. and added bonus,if any feminists out there, were seaching for a new anthem, this clever and fun ditti could well be up for the running, certainly quailified contender! ....You go Girl!!”

“Highly Recommended,...Heavenly twang with spicy urban and cleverly intergrated story lyrics. Fun loving Hip Storyteller.”

“Every perfect bookshelf-full has it's perfect bookends, and to "Step Out of the Shade" at one end, this "Home" is everything that is deserved at the other. When Amy raises her voice, it lifts everything up around it. Such a perfect sentiment and perfect song, and more of each time you hear it.”

“I don't know from feminism, but I am now among the converted--THIS is the real thing. So where does a guy sign up for the Amy Speace fan club?”

“I could listen to this voice for hours on end... I listen to this voice for hours on end... When it sings softly, as it does on this incredibly beautiful song, it gets inside your heart and you find yourself drifting in a reverie of everything that is beautiful, even while it may be wistful and a little bit sad... Beautiful.”

“I have a soft spot for songs like this...fun, with that heart-tug twang. Really nice.”

“From the moment I first heard this, I've been dreaming of one day seeing Amy on stage with Grant Langston and hearing 'em both cut loose. There isn't a better line combined with its delivery in all my record collection than Amy's "sold the Jeep for parts to pay for cigarettes and diapers". There's more fun in this one record than in all the road trips you could ever dream of taking.”

“Its own reason to cry every time you hear it, there aren't many sad songs that remain compelling in spite of how hard they can be to hear. It has the rhythm of the road, and the empty echo of loneliness put to harmony. Something personal, and something real.”

“It echoes Amy's own "Shed This Skin" from earlier in the record, but it trades a bit of the top for a bit of the underneath. Another one that gets the rewind/replay treatment almost every time it comes to the top of the playlist. A low-key gem.”

“A simply-styled American Folk Song that's timeless and pure. The harmony between Amy and Cliff Eberhardt is perfection of a kind, but you know the song is something much larger than that, too. Equal parts Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, sung with honesty and heart. Beautiful.”
