Yes! It's another Tuesday of lovely new music. This week we've
got a sweet Lookout!
Records compilation, celebrating 20 years of the
iconic Berkeley punk label, the latest album from A Camp (side
project of The
Cardigans' Nina Persson), the debut EP from British
sensation Florence and
the Machine, and more!
We're thrilled to bring you the new album from Asobi Seksu,
one week before it's out anywhere else! Today we've also got new
music from Miranda Lee
Richards, Simply Red,
The
Long Lost, and more -- find it all after the
break!
Sadly, in December Brooklyn shoegazers Dirty On
Purpose went their separate ways, concluding their
time as a band on a tour with A Place To Bury
Strangers.
Their 2008 EP Like Bees still holds up as a fine
example of their work, including a fantastic cover of Real Life's
"Send Me An Angel" and an acoustic version of their near-perfect
single "No Radio." Read our spotlight after the break!
Today we're thrilled to bring you an exclusive release of
Davy, the new album from Coconut
Records (Jason Schwartzman), as well as new releases from
Kreator,
the unstoppable Bang Camaro,
Mia
Riddle, and more!
Today we've got the eagerly-awaited US debut from South Africa's
stadium rock kings The
Parlotones, the debut from Oslo electronic musician
Dokkemand, the
companion release to Deerhunter's
critically-acclaimed Microcastle, and more!
"This is the kind of record you'll spend days rocking out to.
You'll get lost walking around listening to it (I know I did),
think about quitting your job to relive the days when a record like
this was all that was allowed to matter. You'll want to start your
own band and take over your own universe. Titus
Andronicus is the kind of band that rock-kids will be drawn
to and that will remind us all what it was we loved about rock
music in the first place."
Most people would peg a band called It Hugs Back as cute
pop, maybe even played by guys in giant teddy-bear suits. Well, as
they say, never judge an album by its cover, because The Record
Room is rich, mature rock, building anticipation for the band's
upcoming full-length. Have a listen in our featured albums this
week!
