If you've been an Amie Street user for a while, then there's a good chance that you are familiar with These United States ... the band that is. They've got the most REC'd song on the site ( So High So Low So Wide So Long ) and they recently did an interview with crazyeyes. They even stopped by Amie Street's offices to record some exclusive tracks while on tour. Considering how much the Amie Street community loves their tunes, you can be sure that you'll continue to hear a lot from these guys in the future.

Casey Shea is a celebrity on the New York music scene. He performs nearly every night of the week with either The Undisputed Heavyweights, Sundown, or his own band and he's frequently spotted making guest appearances on stage with other local artists. Basically, the guy's all over the place and has dozens of adoring fans including writers from The New Yorker Magazine and MTV (just to name a few). With all his talent and charisma, it's no surprise that Casey has become an Amie Street favorite.

A Young Soul Legend in the Making

Amie Street has been a different place ever since Eli "Paperboy" Reed and the True Loves dropped in on the scene with their old school brand of soul and funk. In 2005, Eli and co. were winners of Best R&B act in the WFNX/ Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll and were nominated for Best Blues Act at the Boston Music Awards the following year. The band is currently in the middle of their month-long residency at Magnetic Fields in Brooklyn, NY. If you can't make it out to any of those shows, you're in luck -- they've got a ton of music on Amie Street!

A Party Rocker & A Poet

They've certainly earned their name: Blue Scholars formed at the University of Washington in 2002, and five years later have created such intelligent and important music that a member of U-Oregon's International Studies program wrote a paper analyzing their songs as part of a "revolutionary critical pedagogy."

But while they're being fawned over in academia, Blue Scholars are almost too busy rocking crowds to notice. They've shared the stage with De La Soul, Mos Def, and Little Brother -- and last year opened for Kanye West. Attention from critical media like Vibe, Urb, and XLR8R have drawn the duo into the national eye, and they are currently performing everywhere from their hometown Seattle to DC and Atlanta.
