Recognition: Survivor Celebration

Congratulations to Survivor Celebration, a campaign to inspire, educate and empower cancer survivors, whose participants were just awarded the National Community Service Award by the 2007 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards. A major part of this campaign has been the distribution of the Survivor Celebration compilation album, and Amie Street is proud to be the exclusive digital retailer. Every purchase of the album goes to help cancer survivors, so this is a great way to get involved!
"The point of Survivor Celebration is to inspire people to fight for their life, and to celebrate each day God gives us," said Jane Ali. "We are very thankful that the efforts of many have been recognized. It is a true team effort. Our work is just beginning and we hope this award will attract more support so we can help more people. We are truly thankful to Al Bowman and the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards."
The inspirational album features 12 songs from a variety of
artists. The title song,
Through the Darkness, Into the Light
, was written and
produced by Survivor Celebration creator A.J. Ali for his wife
Jane, a breast cancer survivor who clung to music and faith in God
to inspire her to get through the chemo sessions. Jane heads up the
nonprofit Marathon of Miracles Foundation. The album also features
music from Gordon Chambers, Allan Harris, Alan Hewitt, Marcus
Johnson, Franki Love, Mercy Me, Nora Payne, Antonio Sol, Kevin
Toney and Pamela Williams.
"Survivor Celebration is playing a crucial part in raising cancer awareness throughout the United States and making it their goal to draw much more attention to this matter that affects us all," said Tim Overbeck of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. "I was deeply honored when I was asked by the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards to present Survivor Celebration with a National Community Service Award. They truly deserve this award for their commitment and dedication to their cause."
