Jenny Owen Youngs

Montclair, NJ singer-songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs is releasing her new album two weeks early on Amie Street! Transmitter Failure is a lot more upbeat than her debut, with bouncing, sunny bass lines and electric guitar giving a boost to her melodic pop-folk. Plus, for each download we'll make a $1 donation to The Smile Train, a world-renowned organization leading the effort to eradicate the problem of cleft palates. "What The Smile Train has done, and continues to do for children around the world is nothing short of a miracle," said Jenny. "It's an honor to be able to support their work with my music." Start by downloading the free single "Led To The Sea"!

For fans of: Regina Spektor + Cat Power + Feist

The Crystal Method

The Crystal Method

Fresh off their headlining gig at Coachella, big beat pioneers The Crystal Method brought a ton of guests with them for Divided By Night, their first new album in five years. Hasidic Jewish reggae rapper Matisyahu appears on the first single "Drown In The Now," and the album also features New Order's Peter Hook, Metric's Emily Haines, She Wants Revenge's Justin Warfield, and LMFAO. MTV called their New York show on Saturday night "sensory assault," so you've got a good idea what you're in for!

For fans of: The Chemical Brothers + Simian Mobile Disco + The Prodigy

Operation Aloha

Operation Aloha

During a month-long trip to Maui, various members of Gomez, Maroon 5, Phantom Planet and their friends (14 in all!) formed Operation Aloha and recorded this self-titled album. It sounds just like you'd expect: low-key West Coast rockers hanging out on the beach, living in huts, and making supremely carefree music.

For fans of: Phantom Planet + Little Joy + The Shins

Tiny Animals

Tiny Animals

Tiny Animals make the kind of songs that sound like the Saturday morning before an epic weekend: soaring guitars and vocals that make you stretch your arms and rock out a little bit while you're brushing your teeth. Sweet Sweetness is their debut full-length -- get it for only $3, with a free download of "Useless"!

For fans of: Muse + Jimmy Eat World + Foo Fighters

Hanne Hukkelberg

Hanne Hukkelberg

Norwegian singer Hanne Hukkelberg has earned comparisons to both Nina Simone and Björk, and on her third studio album she's starting to show a bit of PJ Harvey. Ethereal folk, atmospheric rock, experimental jazz, and found sounds like fluttering flags and seagulls make Blood From A Stone a fascinating, unsettling work; NME calls it "intimate... more air than earth."

For fans of: My Brightest Diamond + The Cocteau Twins + PJ Harvey

Leaves

Leaves

Drawing from the yearning, orchestral sound of English alternative rockers (and tour mates) Doves, Icelandic band Leaves are back with their third album. We Are Shadows is great for a night drive; The New York Times calls their music "intense, polished rock... equal parts Pink Floyd and Radiohead."

For fans of: Doves + The Verve + Keane

Mark Templeton

Mark Templeton

Mark Templeton, an electronic musician from Montreal, blurs and processes his voice, guitars, banjo, and field recordings until they all melt together on his album. The web magazine Hexadance describes Inland, Templeton's second release for Anticipate Recordings, as "modern experimental campfire music," with "visible, warm melodies and smeared, distorted meanderings, pulses to hold onto and hollowed caves to get lost in."

For fans of: Fennesz + The Books + Tim Hecker

Office

Office

Chicago's Office make joyous, jerky pop rock, with touches of new wave and even a little Queen pomp. Mecca is their fifth album, overflowing with hooks and stomping melodies; Tiny Mix Tapes calls it "lush and complex... remains immediately accessible even as it unfolds itself through repeated listening."

For fans of: Modest Mouse + Spoon + of Montreal

Hill Country Revue

Hill Country Revue

Formed by two members of North Mississippi Allstars and songwriter Garry Burnside (son of blues legend R.L. Burnside), Hill Country Revue makes good-time Southern rock. Make A Move is their debut album, and the Tennessee Daily Times says it's "played with all of the joy and exuberance of simple guys celebrating the soundtrack to the place from which they come."

For fans of: North Mississippi Allstars + Widespread Panic + Gov't Mule
