Peaches St. Vincent Dirty Projectors
Jon Hopkins El Grupo Nuevo Anderson

Peaches

Peaches

With song titles that've made the New York Times uncomfortable for years, Peaches hasn't budged an inch from her nasty-girl electro-freak persona on I Feel Cream. On the new album, she collaborates with dancefloor killers Simian Mobile Disco and Soulwax to produce king-sized sleaze music; MusicOMH says it's like being in the "VIP room at an uber-cool Berlin club."

For fans of: Spank Rock + Soulwax + Simian Mobile Disco

St. Vincent

St. Vincent

Starting her career in Sufjan Stevens' touring band and playing guitar with The Polyphonic Spree, Oklahoma's Annie Clark broke out on her own as St. Vincent, winning the PLUG "Female Artist of the Year" award in 2008. Her second album adds a heavy garage-rock crunch to her elegant, cinematic pop, showing off her simultaneous love for Sonic Youth and Disney soundtracks. "With Actor," says the BBC, "Clark has made the leap from promising to thrilling."

For fans of: Björk + Sufjan Stevens + Deerhoof

Dirty Projectors

After their widely-loved contribution to Dark Was The Night, Brooklyn band Dirty Projectors are back with this fantastic new single. While founder Dave Longstreth usually sings lead, "Stillness Is The Move" puts Amber Coffman in the spotlight, and shows her reaching some pretty incredible, Mariah Carey-esque heights over the band's creeping, bleeping indie-funk. Once you've listened to the first track 10 times, enjoy the extra remixes and B-sides while you wait for the new album coming June 9!

For fans of: TV on the Radio + Vampire Weekend + Beyoncé

Jon Hopkins

Jon Hopkins

If you've heard Viva La Vida, you've heard Jon Hopkins. Through his friendship with Brian Eno, Coldplay's latest producer, Hopkins met the band, and they were so enamored with his "Light Through The Veins" that they used it to bookend their new album. Check out the track -- which is way better in its full 9+ minutes -- and after your "Oh yeah!" moment chill out to the rest of this gorgeous record.

For fans of: Brian Eno + Ulrich Schnauss + Imogen Heap

Bif Naked

Bif Naked

Juno Award-winning Vancouver rocker Bif Naked has a new single ripping through rock radio, "Sick," and it bodes well for her new album The Promise. Bif Naked identifies as Straight Edge, and her music combines the hard punk sound of that scene with the melodious lyrics of Lilith Fair contemporaries like Liz Phair.

For fans of: Paramore + Courtney Love + Pink

El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

The lead guitarist and producer for Grammy award-winning prog band The Mars Volta, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has a new band, and it's called El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. If you don't speak Spanish, that's OK: Stereogum calls them "Hella Volta," as the group also includes The Mars Volta's singer and bassist and two Hella members, and says "basically El Grupo is designed to kick your ass." Cryptomnesia is the first in a trilogy, so get ready.

For fans of: The Mars Volta + Hella + At The Drive-In

Anderson

Anderson

Bas van Nienes and Jeroen Van der Werken make up the Dutch indietronic duo Anderson, who are making their US debut with this Amie Street exclusive EP! These five tracks are a sampler for their upcoming album, It Runs In The Family, which follows the story of the Bensons, ten estranged relatives living separate lives across the globe. The first single, "Trevor," stays in heavy rotation on MTV Holland, and is a great introduction to their Postal Service/Notwist hybrid.

For fans of: The Notwist + The Postal Service + Pet Shop Boys

Various Metallists

Metal Forever

The title says it all doesn't it? This Steamhammer compilation features tracks from Motörhead, Monster Magnet, Kreator, Iced Earth, Sepultura, and more. Don't say we didn't give you any Mother's Day ideas.

For fans of: Motörhead + Sepultura + Monster Magnet
