Sam Champion

Sam Champion

Named a Breaking Artist by Rolling Stone this spring, Sam Champion describe their music as "a call back to shirtless festival crowds and the grunge workouts of yesteryear." Their new album Heavenly Bender is full of warm, woozy indie rock that incorporates new wave, Americana, and a good dose of Malkmus to make a pretty perfect end-of-summer soundtrack. After the band sent their first single "Like A Secret" to Stereogum, the website wrote "Every so often, a band you think you have pegged will evolve from a plain old 'good act' to an absolute force of nature." Not only is this album available exclusively on Amie Street, but it's also only $3 for the next three days!

Motörhead

Motorhead

Motörhead will never stop rocking. Motörhead has released 24 albums. Motörhead won a Grammy in 2005 for their cover of Metallica's "Whiplash." Motörhead plays the theme music for WWE SmackDown wrestler Triple H. Motörhead is from England. Motörhead has at least thirteen tribute bands and eleven different tribute albums. Motörhead's official symbol is named Snaggletooth. Motörhead has its own magazine. Motörhead is the loudest band in the world. Motörhead's new album is called Motörizer.

Jennifer O'Connor

Jennifer O'Connor

Here With Me is the follow-up to the Jennifer O'Connor's critically-acclaimed debut Over The Mountains, Across The Valley and Back To The Stars. Time Out describes the album as "a rush of everything you ever liked about indie songwriters: substantial songwriting, crystalline vocals, sumptuously simple pop." Make sure to check out Jennifer's song "Lightbulb," only available on AmieStreet.com, and our interview with this budding talent!

Maiysha

Maiysha

The songs on Maiysha's debut, This Much Is True, are rooted in the classic soul of Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire and Chaka Kahn, and incorporate hip-hop, rock, jazz, and even the odd opera sample. Fusing these genres is risky, but Maiysha pulls it off with grace, and had Newsweek calling her sound "just as comfortable on the dance floor as at a backyard barbecue." Although her debut album is just being released today, this young singer has already proven herself with performances on NBC and the popular New York radio station 98.7 KISS FM.

Strive

Strive

Lead singer/pianist Derick Thompson describes the group as "a band that fuses soaring, meaningful bands like U2 and Switchfoot with the sweeping piano-pop of Billy Joel and Bruce Hornsby." Even before the release of Fire, Strive is beginning to see international success with radio spins in over 55 countries and songs licensed for shows on MTV and E! Although Strive is a young band, they've already shown immense generosity by bringing their powerful piano-rock to Russia to promote AIDS awareness and performing a concert for 1,500 orphans in the outskirts of Moscow.

Dru Down

Dru Down

Dru Down is an Oakland rapper and a member of The Regime, a collective that includes Yukmouth, Tech N9ne, Messy Marv and many others. His 1994 hit "Pimp of the Year" got him onto Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks and Top 100 charts, and since then he's performed and collaborated with 2Pac, E-40, and Snoop Dogg. Lost Tapes IV is the fourth collection he's put out of unreleased material, and fans of Bay Area rap won't want to miss tracks like "Thizz is How We Eat" and "East Side Soldier."
