Give me some Choklate!

July 16th, 2007
Choklate

Choklate is a young singer from Seattle who fittingly describes her music as "Young Soul Music." The self-titled debut album,

was produced by Mike D (Choklate's brother) and is rooted in soul and hip-hop. If you're a fan of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, you will definitely want a piece of this Choklate!

Key Tracks:

Play Button Waitin (

)

This was the first song I heard when I came to Amie Street some time early last year when it first debuted. I liked this song so much that it sold me on the whole Amie Street concept. The lyrics are very uplifting, the horns and drums seem to compliment the whole emotion of the piece. The beat sounds like a journey on foot, sort of reminds me of how the beat in Cochran's Life is a Highway convey a sense of traveling in a car." [rec by smacfarl]

Play Button Wish I Hadn't (

)

fun beat but yet sad lyrics...a great combination that not many can pull off...Choklate will go far!!!" [rec by amberalley]

Play Button Whats About To Go Down (

)

AWESOME saucy, funky blues track. 14 minutes of chilling the @#$% out, head nodding style. You can not get a better buy than this track." [rec by Elias]

Play Button Incredible (

)

This song is hot, it's inspirational and you can groove to it. She has a beautiful voice and will go very far with it!" [rec by maddie5290]
