The sound of Tita
Lima's Debut album 11:11 might be described as Samba
meets Dub meets Hiphop meets Jazz meets Bossanova, but that still
misses some of the delicious subtleties found on this record.
Already being supported by radio heavyweights Garth Trinidad(KCRW,
LA) and Gilles Peterson(Radio 1 UK), who licensed
A Conta Do Samba
for his forthcoming "Brownswood Bubblers" compilation,
it should be no surprise that 11:11 is much more than
another Brazil-flavored chill out album. Tita (pronounced Chi-ta)
actually contributed more than just her beautiful voice to this
record, sharing at least partial credit for writing every song on
the album and even producing/engineering the majority...Check out
Flutuando
's dubby bass played by Tita herself. FYI: The
other single off the album,
Catatonica
, is currently
getting the remix treatment by none other than Ohmega
Watts(Lightheaded, Ubiquity)...and it might just end up on Amie
Street before it's available anywhere else! Maybe!
