Artist Spotlight: Bloodgroup
In 2006, during some boring winter days on the east coast of Iceland, Bloodgroup was formed. After a few months of writing unique and catchy dance-pop, the group played at the Iceland Airwaves festival. The performance got them a great deal of attention, praising their on-stage energy, terrific melodies, and beats that got even the hardest metalheads to dance! Today, they are considered one of the best live acts in Iceland.
The group is made up of Halez, Lilja, Raggi (two brothers and a sister) and Janus (Lilja's boyfriend). After raising attention in Iceland and elsewhere, the group finished their first album,
They've just had a very funny, DIY video made for
Hips Again
which they will release in the UK in May. (They
convinced the director to make the video for free by giving him
pizza.) The special effects consist of a "green screen" effect,
where the director just bought a piece of wood and painted it

In the middle of 2007, they were joined by DJ Benni B-Ruff, who brought even more heat to an already sizzling show! Bloodgroup has been busy playing both in Iceland and other countries, promoting their debut with great success, and are currently thinking up ideas for their second album.
