If you've ever had the chance to meet Chachi Carvalho, you
certainly would remember it. His positivity is contagious and his
words are genuine, feelings that come through clearly in his
music.
And, not only is Chachi a talented artist making a name for
himself in the North East hip hop community (check out his music), he's also giving
back to his community by creating the Progressive Youth Creative
Arts Workshop. His workshop is designed to help kids get involved
in all aspects of the music industry, from song writing to music
and album promotion, and is now endowed by our friends at Eclipse
gum.
Chachi created Beat Box Studio in his hometown of Providence,
RI, which is where he drops his gems and, with support from Eclipse
gum, where he'll be working with local youth to build their self
esteem and find their passion through music.
If you want to learn more about Beat Box Studio or the
Progressive Youth Creative Arts Workshop, please get in
touch with Chachi -- he'd love to hear from you.
And stay tuned for more news on how Eclipse gum is helping you
to discover great new music and connect with the artists you
love!

You hear it first on Amie Street. The
is up and you can get your
hands on it before it's official release later this year!
Revolutionary
Youth League's unique brand of pop is equal parts electronic
and heavy rock.
HR4437
(
) begins with an electronic jam and goes into a heavy
metal type riff complete with screams,
The Deserter
(
) combines heavy guitars
with offbeat Reggae-style guitar, while
See Ya To The CYA
(
) sounds like Nirvana with
a bridge reminiscent of My Chemical Romance. Certainly an original
sound!

On Amie Street it all starts with a good song or maybe a few
good songs... In any case, Emma Burgess has never been
on our front page before but with a few REC's she's become one of
the most popular artists on the site! One could suppose that some
luck is involved, but her album Swim is nothing less than a
phenomenal debut packed with inventive songwriting wrapped up in
catchy melodies and a pop-perfect candy shell.
Big Break
starts out with a simple
guitar line but soon becomes a rockin' take on the not entirely
normal microcosm that is California or... L.A. Sweet chimes start
out
My One Song For You
a
ballad with some rather poignant lyrics made all the more touching
by Emma's timing and delivery.
The perfection of every single song on this album begs the
question: who's the writing team behind this girl... The answer: No
One. Emma's been humming to herself since she had a treehouse in
Massachusetts, playing her guitar since a car accident confined her
to a wheelchair for months, writing songs ever since the days were
dark enough to need an outlet. Now, she's in L.A. and there's
already a bit of a buzz, but she's still the one writing the
songs.

JaGoFF is a
collaboration between Sir Real from Chicago and MOFO from Detroit.
is
equal parts techno and funk blending trance-like beats with funky
vocals. The dirty lyrics and vocal production on
Seven Second Delay
(
) will remind
you of Prince while
Bump That Ass
(
) will remind you of Parliament Funkadelic.
Bag of Bones and a Jones
(
) has
clever/witty lyrics with an old school drum groove and
Bust A Nut
(
) has a
groove that'll knock you off-center, but is still catchy. So if
you're thinking about throwing a house party or a rave, make sure
you're well equipped with music from
JaGoFF.

influenced rhythms and later adding tremolo guitar and pedal steel.
His Majesty Rides
(
) has a
laid back groove that'll make you want to get up and dance (or just
nod your head- if that's more your style). If you're interested in
something a little more intimate, check out
