Baron von Luxxury, lead singer and songwriter for San Francisco’s electro-rock indie darlings Luxxury, is also a DJ and a remix producer. His band Luxxury is a shiny, sexy sonic cocktail combining bits of New Order, David Bowie, Devo and Sisters of Mercy with the modern electro sounds of Daft Punk and LCD Soundsystem. Luxxury's long awaited debut album "Rock and Roll is Evil" -- hailed as a future-retro classic -- employs 1980's influenced Italo-disco beats, synths, heroic guitars and sardonic lyrics to chronicle the rise and fall of legendary 70's Sunset Strip groupie Sable Starr. The album was recorded and mixed in Berlin, Los Angeles, Brooklyn and San Francisco and features original cover art by internationally renowned artist Jeremy Blake (Beck's "Sea Change").

"Rock and Roll (is Evil)" has been a favorite on radio and Mp3 blogs -- the singles "Sweet and Vicious", "Drunk", "Something Going On" (a cover of the classic by ABBA' s Frida) and "Sable Starr" have been heard on Live 105, XFM, Virgin Radio London and KROQ. An album featuring 11 exclusive remixes of these songs was released on Nolita Records in May 2007 (see http://www.myspace.com/luxxuryremixes).
<P>Live, Luxxury peforms in a few different configurations. As a solo act or as a duo with bandmate Johnatron, the band performs dance-oriented songs at clubs/DJ nights with a stripped down electro sound: synths, bass guitar, a laptop and a vocoder. Luxxury also performs in indie rock venues as a 3 or 4 piece band that is tight and rocking yet dangerously danceable. On their recent UK tour and several west coast tours, Luxxury have played with The Lovemakers, Scissors for Lefty, Scanners and 80's legends ABC.
