The ideas are unlimited. Both Born into a family of musicians, singers, and songwriters, these two producers (blood cousins) come together to create a midwest sound strictly for the top of the charts. These two are hungry, talented individuals and are more than ready to earn their respect in the music industry, quietly or by force. But their is no Top Shelf without Breez and vice versa. Their talents compliment each other to form perfection. Breez a guitarist/ artist for over 10 years, Leroy a producer/ artist/ songwriter/ engineer for 8 years, unite with a vow to take the next song where the last song didn't go. Coming from a background that involves Church, Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Rap. Raised in an area where they were surrounded by the have nots that are plagued by violence and crime, their strength is their soul and versatility. In the year 2002, Leroy and Breez began formulating their sound together. Producers first, they spent countless hours developing the style they know call Top Shelf. Coming from a city where there is small market for producers, in 2005, they made their first CD "Da Feel Good Mix". Where they pressed up and sold over 2,000 records, out of the trunk. Along with active family members already in the music industry, Leroy strives to show the world their can be a balance in hip-hop. With songs that will make you reminisce about the past, enjoy the present, and dream about the future, Tha Shelf is and will remain a symbol for Hip-Hop. They posses the potential to be as great as an Outkast, Classic as the Dawg Pound, Longevity like UGK, and as consistent as any of the top producers in the industry. They plan to show the world their roots with the up and coming album Cool-Aid (A Ghetto Story). Like few artist before them, they created a project that intertwines the art of story telling, a since of social awareness, and the right to have fun, all mixed together like 100 flavors.
